The hatchet - Journal Entry

The bit that I will always will remember from the book 'Hatchet' :

Brian wanted to give up so bad, he lay on a rock, he lay there hoping he wouldn't wake up in the morning.
He was depressed and wanted to die...

Morning came, brain looked at the dried blood from the night before, hew new he shouldn't of done that and he decided to be a new person, a brave, wanting to survive person. A person who never gave up and kept trying.

That was the start of the new Brian.

The hatchet

Very powerful, very, very powerful this book made our teacher cry. This book is about a 13 year old boy, living in the bush after his plane crashed and pilot dieing almost 3 months before he was found. He goes through depression and changes into a new, strong, brave man and learns to think for himself and make important discussions that make him survive.

Athletics day...

We had a school athletics day on Wednesday. I dd really well I got back up for running (100,200,400), I also got into the finals for discus and came third, also came 4 in long jump. It was a hot and fun day.

Mr Hayes

Our class at Mokoia Intermediate heard about Mr Hayes and how he was victim of a robbery that went on for more then 6 months. Teenagers kept coming back and stealing money, car and more.
We were disgraced to hear about this so we had a school bake sale and made 200 dollars for Mr Hayes we also made him a gift basket with lots of yummy treats and tooth brushes and soap. As well as that we made him 28 cards from every student in our class. He was delighted to get all these wonderful gifts.
